FX-i Precision Balance by A&D Receives Legal for Trade Approval in the US and Canada

The FX-i series of compact precision balances by A&D Weighing are now certified as legal for trade in the United States (NTEP 08-045A1) and Canada (AM-5692).

 The FX-i Series features A&D’s proprietary compact Super Hybrid Sensor (C-SHS) which allows for rapid weighing response. Three 0.1 gram resolution models with 1200, 2000, and 3000 gram capacities are available along with three 0.01 gram resolution models with 120, 200, and 300 gram capacities. The FX-i offers several connectivity choices, from the standard RS-232C to the optional USB port or optional Ethernet interface with WinCT-Plus software. The Statistical Calculation Function (SCF) provides statistical data display or output of weighed samples.

The patented Compact Super Hybrid Sensor A&D had already provided breakthrough technology with the Super Hybrid Sensor (SHS), which combines the precision of a force restoration motor with the quick response time of a load cell. The key challenge was to reduce the size of the SHS in order to fit within the smaller configuration. Through the development of the unique Double Lever Mechanism (patent pending) A&D was able to reduce the volume of the SHS by 50% while still meeting stringent performance criteria. An additional benefit of the Compact SHS is that it consumes one-half of the current of the full-size model, allowing an optional battery to last up to 8 hours on a single charge.
