A&D Engineering Names Teruhisa Moriya President and Chief Executive
Former President and CEO and Board Member Paul Huber announces retirement

Milpitas, CA -- April, 12 2005 -- A&D Engineering, Inc. recently announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Teruhisa Moriya to the position of president and chief executive officer, succeeding retiring President and CEO Paul Huber.  The change became effective April 1, 2005.

Teru Moriya has been with the company since June of 2002 when he was hired into an executive management role at A&D Company Limited Tokyo.  Prior to joining A&D, he spent 14 years in international trade, commercial banking and strategic planning with one of the major Japanese banks.  In August 2003, he moved to A&D Engineering in California to facilitate the company’s entry into the U. S. viscometer business, particularly the marketing and sales efforts.

"We are confident that Teru will apply his visionary planning and dynamic management skills to enhance A&D's success in all its business operations," said Board Member Masatake Eto.

Huber echoes that sentiment.  “Since he came on board two years ago, Teru has worked in marketing and sales and has been a member of the Board of Directors,” said Huber.  “Teru embodies the values on which A&D was built; with the support of his colleagues on the board, he will be well-suited to lead this organization into the future.”  Moriya and Huber have been working closely to facilitate a smooth leadership transition.

During Huber’s 17-year tenure with A&D, the company’s annual revenues have grown from $9 million to $40 million.  According to Eto, that growth is a testament to Huber’s effective strategic and operational planning. “Paul is an exceptional businessperson and planner --- but first and foremost he is a man of personal integrity and a visionary leader who recognizes and values the contributions of each member of the company,” Eto said.  Moriya adds, "We are well-positioned for continued success.  It is my intention to build upon the strong foundation Paul has created.  I would like to keep the organization dynamic so we can efficiently react to an ever-changing competitive marketplace.”

A&D Engineering, Inc. is a subsidiary of A&D Company Ltd., a multinational corporation on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.  The company is a world leader in high-technology measurement equipment and systems, with global sales over $200 million annually.  It has offices in the United States, Japan, Australia, Korea, Great Britain and China.
